The movement of characters in FE0 is also a lot faster compared to the sluggish grapples and tackles of the giants in FE3 and FER which although realistic, greatly ruins the tempo of the fight which again, can really mess up combos and as you say, encourage spamming in a way. Also finishers literally erasing both health bars in FER is just not cool. Sure FER showcasing the raw power of the special moves being performed by playing cutscenes was cool and all but it just ruins the immersion of the game and can sometimes just break the flow of the fight.
